Ghana’s 2012 General Election is just around the corner barely Fifteen months from now. Electronic Registration is fast becoming a preferred method of voter registration in many countries. The multi-million questions that many Ghanaians are contemplating about the Electronic Voter Registration day-in, day-out, among others are;
-Is the Electoral Commission facing serious set-backs with regards to the Electronic /Biometric Voter Registration, if no, what is preventing them from starting the exercise now.
-Is the Electoral Commission’s Budget for the 2012 General Elections being met by the Government?
-Has the Electoral Commission contracted any renowned Information Technology company either locally or abroad to execute the Electronic Voter Registration in Ghana?
-Has the Electoral Commission considered the limited time at its disposal for the commencement of the Electronic /Biometric Voter Registration and also to educate Ghanaians on how to use it during the forth-coming general election taking into consideration placement of Verification Systems at the various polling stations?
-Has the Electoral Commission seen how tension has started mounting up between the two top political parties in Ghana? So the only option which is left for them is to execute the Electronic Voter Registration very well so as to prevent any unforeseen situation in the country.
