Various Stakeholders have commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for the transparent manner in which the electoral process has been handled so far. Southern Africa Centre for Conflict Resolution and Disputes (SACCORD) programmes manager Boniface Cheembe said he was happy that the electoral process had been done in a transparent manner.
Mr Cheembe said he was happy that all stakeholders had been invited and were involved in the electoral process since the beginning of the exercise. He said SACCORD was also happy that ECZ had assisted in maintaining peace during the electoral process.
Northmead Assemblies of God Bishop Joshua Banda expressed happiness with the ECZ conduct of the electoral process and called for continued dialogue among stakeholders and political players.
“So far, everything has been done in a transparent manner. Dialogue is the key and even up to the close of the electoral process, people should continue to dialogue,” Pastor Banda said. He was hopeful that re-distribution of the Ballot papers to polling stations would be equally transparent.
Bishop Banda further called for peace saying there should be no violence and stigmatizing of people during and after the election. He further called on the Zambian people to ensure that the election was peaceful and ensure that Zambia was a shining example to the rest of the countries in Africa and the world as a whole.
