BDP Regional Secretary Baemedi Kudumane said they expect thousands of delegates from around and outside the country
“We expect up to 3, 000 delegates and people from all the 57 constituencies. Also we have representatives from SWAPO (South West People’s Organisation) from Namibia, Zimbabwe African Nation Union Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) and Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) invited to the congress.
The official opening is at 2:30pm by His Excellency the President,” he said.Councillor Kudumane indicated that with delegates expected to start arriving today, preparations were at an advanced stage. “We invite all people to come for the congress in their numbers,” he urged.
The congress will see the small but densely populated township congested and the area painted red and black, which are the BDP’s favourite colours. Choirs have been lined up to keep delegates entertained at the Madiba Secondary School.
