The Elections Office in Fiji is recommending the interim government hold one-day elections in 2014.
The Acting Supervisor for Elections, Soro Toutou has told FijiLive that as part of the voting system, individual voters will go to a designated polling station on polling day.
Mr Toutou is hoping voter registrations will no longer be manual but electronic, where finger prints and photographs are captured along with birth certificates or passport names and permanent residential addresses.
He says a voter registration exercise will be launched late this year and after its completion, the Elections Office will be able to determine how many voters will turn up at each polling station on election day.
