The Davidson County Election Commission has reinstated all early voting sites for the August Metro election. On Thursday, the election commission approved its original early voting plan. The unanimous decision was the final step in a compromise between the commission and Metro Council that ensures the 11 early voting sites stay open.
The election commission, citing staffing concerns, voted earlier this month to cut all but one site if the council did not allocate more money. On Tuesday, the council approved $283,500 in extra funds for the election commission.
Early voting will be available from July 17 to Aug. 1 in the Sonny West Auditorium at Metro’s Howard Office Building at 700 Second Ave. S. Ten additional early voting locations will be open July 23 to Aug. 1.
